Competition Terms & Conditions

 

Introduction

By participating in this competition you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. The competition is being run by Solo Automations Ltd. This competition is not affiliated or endorsed in any way by the Edinburgh Fringe.

There are three (3) top prizes of Edinburgh Fringe Sponsorship available.

 

Eligibility to Enter

By entering this competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you.

To enter you must:

• Be performing with your own show at Edinburgh Fringe 2024.
• Be 18 years of age or over.
• Have a UK based bank account or a PayPal account.

Only one entry per show/performer is permitted. Solo Automations Ltd employees and associates are excluded from the draw.

 

Judging Criteria

Every application will be considered for this competition and will be assessed carefully using the following criteria:

• Uniqueness
• Inventive use of SOLO technology
• Creativity
• Theme
• Plot
• Appropriateness
• Overall effect

All decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

 

Sponsorship includes

The selected shows will acquire Edinburgh Fringe Sponsorship to include:

• 1 x SOLOreader hardware
• SOLOstudio PRO app for 1 year
• 1 hour 1-2-1 session with Sam Fitton, inventor of SOLO
• Use of SOLOreader hardware in rehearsal and preview show/s
• £250 cash prize for use exclusively to promote your show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.
• Your show filmed at the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.

The sponsorship is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.

We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.

Should the selected shows cancel their Edinburgh fringe show and thus forfeit their sponsorship then all equipment must be returned within 10 working days or the selected shows will be invoiced for the full retail value of such equipment & apps.

Solo Automations Ltd’s decision on any aspect of the sponsorship is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

 

Successful Show Announcement

The selected shows will be chosen by the team at Solo Automations Ltd and will be notified via the email address provided no later than February 10, 2024.

Solo Automations Ltd will make two attempts to contact the selected show via email and/or telephone.

If the selected shows do not respond to the emails or telephone calls informing them of their win within 5 days of the second email, they forfeit their right to the sponsorship, and Solo Automations Ltd reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.

 

Equipment & Hardware

The selected shows will be contacted to arrange suitable delivery of hardware & app through mutual agreement.

Video footage of the selected shows will be delivered within 20 working days of the end of the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.

Hardware gained by the selected shows through successful sponsorship may not be re-sold.

 

Confidentiality

Solo Automations Ltd respects all creatives and as such will not disclose any information regarding the content, including show name, excluding the selected shows, and show description, to any 3rd party without the express permission of the show’s representative.

The show information submitted for this competition will be used solely to evaluate entries and support the selected shows going forward.

 

Data Protection and Publicity

You agree that any personal information that you provide when applying for sponsorship will be used by Solo Automations Ltd for the purposes of administering the sponsorship selection process and for the other purposes as specified in our Privacy Policy.

All entrants may request information on the selected shows by emailing support@solosfx.com.

Should it be required as part of the selection process you agree to a video call about your show.

If requested by Solo Automations Ltd, the winner agrees to release their first and last name to any other competition participants.

During the Edinburgh Fringe 2024 we would love the selected shows to tag us in their social media posts so that we can re-share, tag and promote the shows on our channels.

The selected shows agree to provide a video & written testimonial about, but not limited to, their Edinburgh Fringe experience using SOLO, SOLO hardware and the SOLOstudio PRO app for promotional use by Solo Automations Ltd.

The selected shows allows their show to be filmed and allows Solo Automations to use any captured video for its promotional purposes.

The selected shows name and country of residence will be announced on Solo Automations Ltd’s website and social media channels.

 

Limitation of Liability

Solo Automations Ltd accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in the SOLO sponsorship process. The safety of the hardware and app supplied is the selected shows sole responsibility. 

 

General

Solo Automations Ltd reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel sponsorship or amend these terms and conditions.
