Last updated: 26 November 2024
Overview
SOLOstudio® PRO just got a whole lot more powerful.
With our new MIDI cue option you have the ability to add MIDI cues that are sent over network to any other device you wish, triggering any host of special effects from lighting, lasers, smoke machines… Anything that accepts a midi command! #GameChanger
Our new MIDI cues allow you to select any 1 of 10 Notes, on any 1 of 10 Octaves over 16 possible Channels.. That’s over 1600 unique combinations to send specific MIDI commands!
All MIDI cues in SOLOstudio® PRO are sent as ‘Single Shot’ ie: Note on, followed by Note off in quick succession).
The world of possibilities this opens is now infinite and we’re excited to share with you this incredible new upgrade to SOLOstudio® PRO.

4) Inside this settings area you’ll have the ability to ‘Enable MIDI service’ – This must be enabled or your recieivng device will not be able to find your iPhone/iPad
5) On your Mac open ‘Audio Midi Setup’ – Then in the top menu, select Window and then ‘Show Midi Studio’
6) The MIDI studio will pop open. Tap the globe icon. Another box pops open.
7) In this box, on the top left under ‘My Sessions’ click the ‘+’ icon to start a new session.

If using Qlab, note that it has a ‘Listen’ function to auto store MIDI commands to cues that it ‘hears’ over the network.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ:
1) You must be connected to the same network to use this feature
2) Please ensure that you fully understand how to use and implement MIDI commands in both SOLOstudio® PRO AND your chosen software before implementing it into a live show.
